The Southwest Museum of the American Indian is undergoing renovation and is only open on Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 5pm • During the renovation admission is Free! • The Southwest Museum galleries are closed except for a small space in the lobby for special exhibitions and store events • The store is open! • The museum is located above downtown Los Angeles and the historic Arroyo Seco. It is the oldest museum in Los Angeles.
Visitors are still able to enjoy a variety of fun and educational events. For a list of programs at the Southwest Museum during restoration and conservation, please visit our website. Also, the grounds of the museum are open for a program called 'Dig It!' and to visit the Ethnobotanical Gardens
